During your conversation with the executive and activities director about volunteering, you should be prepared to communicate the things you would like to volunteer doing. I can tell you that attending, assisting and even leading activities will be their first priority. You may find that, based on state laws and liability requirements, you may not be able to help in wellness related matters.
Some other things to expect:
- You will very likely be required to wear a name-tag at all times
- You may be required to keep a log of hours you are at the community
- You may required to go through some screening. This may include finger printing and/or background check
- You may need to sign certain community forms
Again, once you know where you would like to volunteer, follow up with the executive director and activities director regarding the specifics. At The Fremont, we encourage volunteering and try to make the process as simple and accommodating as possible. Thank you again for wanting to be involved!
