Ask a Question

Are there senior communities that focus on specific cultures?

My grandmother is very set in her ways and beliefs and I don't want her to give up such an important part of her identity.

Thank you for your question! We have an article on the A Place for Mom blog regarding specific cultures that may be of interest to you. The article specifically talks about Asian cultures but there are many other options out there. The link is: http://www.aplaceformom.com/blog/4-3-14-asian-senior-living-communities/.

Feel free to give us a call at 866-568-2989 to speak with one our Senior Living Advisors who will be able to give you specific options in your area.

Depending on where you live you may find some cultures with easier access to such resources. For example finding a community with Jewish folks is easier in New York City than it is in say Louisiana. If it is religous related contacting a local pastor may be a good idea. He/She may know of some folks who attend the church and where they live (in a senior community), etc.
