How do I find a multi-lingual community?

English is mom's second language and as the dementia progresses she has lapsed back into speaking German, is it possible to find a community that will be able to converse with her when she stops speaking English?

There are many caregivers out there who speak different languages.

If you are looking for in-home care, it's a good idea to speak directly with the agency about your concerns and request for someone who speaks German. If you mother is living in a community setting, again, talk to the management there about your concerns and wishes. There are several resources out there to reach out to that may be able to help as well. Sometimes your local Area Agency on Aging may also have non-english speaking volunteers!

You may find too that she understands what is spoken to her and able to read body language but uses her native language to talk back.
