Signs for Mild Cognitive Impairment include misplacing things often, forgetting to go to important events and appointments, and having trouble coming up with desired words.

Dementia is the loss of thinking, memory, and reasoning skills to such an extent that it seriously effects a person's ability to carry out daily activities.

Symptoms may include being unable to remember things repeatedly, forget all about an incident soon afterward but may recall in detail events that happened in the more distant past, last year, or during childhood, becoming lost in familiar places, being unable to follow directions, getting disoriented about time, people and places, problems with judgment and planning, neglecting personal safety, hygiene, and nutrition, withdrawing from friends and unusual changes in personality.
