What kind of financial assistance is there for legally blind people in Florida?

i am asking for a friend, she cannot use a computer, has no family near by and other than a few friends who help out has no transportation. With help she has applied to Va for assistance, but that will take some time. She owns a home and for the moment takes care of herself. Soon she will need in home care and funds to pay for that. There is a local organisation who will come to her home and teach her how to be safe, prepare food etc. but as yet I have not found any financial assistance for her. Thank you!

A key piece to being awarded Pension plus Aid and Attendance is the evidence provided to support the claim. Your friend being blind is excellent medical evidence to support the need for care but just one step in a convoluted and difficult process. If she is not paying out of her personal finances for care at the time the claim was filed, there is an extremely high likelihood of a denial. If you should receive a denial due to lack of evidence to support the claim, we would be glad to assist you.
