Lighting plays an important part in helping us know when to sleep and when to be awake. Especially in folks with dementia. Try turning on the lights in all the rooms and opening all the blinds at the same time every morning. Do this even in the room where he is sleeping. At night, do the opposite. This could take some time but other families have found that this helps establish a better pattern of sleep. Good luck!

My mom was the same way, watching movies all night. what i did was started to wake her up at 2pm get her morning pills in her, fix her breakfast and keep her up intil 10:00 pm. Then give her night pills and sleeping pill and put her to bed. Limit the tv to go off at certain time and take away remote. Start waking them up an hour earlier every day till you feel comfortable that he's had enough sleep. also if stomache is ok. give him a warming treat before bed. sit down and enjoy it with him. lol.
