Can a person get LTC insurance once they have been diagnosed with dementia?

Mom has what her doctor is calling a preliminary diagnosis. Can we get LTC before the diagnosis becomes official?

No LTC product whether it is traditional or asset based life insurance with LTC attachment will be offered to a person who has any form of diagnosed dementia.

There is a plan called True Freedom where care giving services in a person's home will be provided where there is no medical underwriting. The reason is because it is a membership plan where you pay for discounted hours to have care giving services.

There are other products which are available which will provide care services even if a person has certain chronic issues. There are benefits available for everyone based on health issues and affordability.

We tried and were told by an insurance professional that it is not usually possible and if by some chance they are able to the premiums will be very high.
