A Place for Mom Expands Florida Presence
Leading Senior Housing
Referral Service Launches New Team of Advisors, More than Doubles
its Partner Network
SEATTLE, Oct. 16,
2012 -- A Place for Mom, Inc. (APFM) has announced its
expanded presence in the Florida market, hiring a new team of 16
Advisors who, for the first time in the region, will work
one-on-one with families as they seek senior care and housing
options for loved ones. Since July 2012, APFM has more than doubled
its network of Florida
senior living communities, now offering more than 650 referral
options to their clients in the Sunshine State.
"We saw a definite opportunity to better assist families, and we
are growing rapidly to provide our service to seniors and their
loved ones in Florida," said Sean Kell, CEO of A Place for Mom. "It became
increasingly clear that families scattered throughout the country,
specifically in the Northeast, needed assistance for their moms and
dads in Florida. The depth and breadth of information we can
provide is unparalleled in this industry, and we are looking
forward to helping Floridians through the process of finding the
right senior living solutions for their families."
As a nationwide service provider, A Place for Mom closely
monitors each region to determine changes in the needs of consumers
to ensure it is providing the necessary level of local support and
resources. When reviewing company data and making comparisons
between the first half of 2011 vs. 2012, analysis clearly showed
that consumer requests for senior living options in the state of
Florida rose more than 20 percent year-over-year.
"We are often contacted when families reach a crisis point,
which leaves them very little time to get educated on their
options," said Tami Cumings, senior vice president at A Place for
Mom. "There is nothing more satisfying than to see an advisor
provide best-in-class counsel to families in need. We are already
doing it and look forward to expanding on our success thus
far."
Ms. Cumings is responsible for the company's national network of
Senior Living Advisors, including the new Florida team. The company
is seeking to fill an additional 11 positions in Florida for the
Pensacola, Lakeland and Melbourne areas among other markets.
A Place for Mom assists more than 250,000 families per year in
the United States and is affiliated with more than 18,000 providers
of senior living services, making it the widest reaching service of
its kind around the country. Its highly trained network of Senior Living Advisors factor geographical
preferences, amenities, family budget, the level of assistance
required, nutritional and religious beliefs and more as they
provide senior care and housing solutions to the families they
assist.
Since its expansion in Florida, the Advisor team has worked with
nearly 1,500 families seeking options in the state and has helped
facilitate more than 165 moves into partner communities. By July
2013, APFM anticipates the number of inquiries it receives in
Florida to reach nearly 20,000 per year.
