Nation’s Largest Elder Care Referral Service Signs On As National Walk Team
Seattle, WA – August 25, 2009 – A Place for Mom, the nation’s largest elder care referral service, announced today its commitment to support the Alzheimer’s Association as a National Team for the Alzheimer’s Association 2009 Memory Walk®.
“A Place for Mom helps over 50,000 families every month in their search for elder care, many who have a loved one suffering from Alzheimer’s disease,” said Pamala Temple, president and CEO of A Place for Mom. “We are participating in over 90 walks nationwide this fall, and are committed to raising funds and awareness to bring an end to such a terrible disease.”
Memory Walk is a non-competitive walk held in various cities across the country during summer and fall, bringing together families, friends, caregivers and concerned community members. Since 1989, the Memory Walk has raised more than $250 million to those battling Alzheimer’s disease.
A Place for Mom invites anyone interested to walk with one of our local Memory Walk teams. To learn more about participating with A Place for Mom’s Team, visit www.alz.org/memorywalk/national.asp.
