A Place for Mom's "Professionals Helping Seniors" event series in an exciting networking opportunity open to any professional or business that provides a service or product to senior citizens.

Join us on July 23, 2015 in Duluth with presenter Danielle Cefalu Humphrey, CELA for "Capacity, Competency, and Ethical Interventions."

This presentation will provide guidance and tools for assessing areas of concerns when clinicians are confronted with ethical dilemmas. Danielle will explain the difference between capacity and competency and provide guidelines for determining a person's capacity.

Danielle became a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) in January 2014, making her only the 9th attorney in the State of Georgia to have earned this distinction. She is an attorney with Hurley Elder Care Law.


Any health care professional or representative of a business that works with seniors is welcome to attend this event at no cost.

Continuing Education Units available: 1 ethic or core hour for social workers (GA NASW),1 contact hour for case managers (CCMC), and 1 contact hour for RNs (TNA).

About the Speaker

John teaches Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for professional health care providers in both Georgia and Alabama. Through this "give back" initiative, Nurses, Social Workers, Case Managers, and Discharge Planners who serve in hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and other care facilities are receiving the CEU credits they need while learning valuable information to help them care more effectively for their patients. He works for Family Private Care, LLC, a home care agency serving Atlanta and Birmingham.
