Friendly residents and caring staff
My mother moved here last June, several months after my father passed away. It was a big move because she had been living on the West Coast since the 1960s, but her remaining close family now reside on the East Coast or in Europe. We were lucky to find this affordable place for her, so close to St Michael's Church, as she has been a life-long faithful, practicing Catholic. There are three meals a day, and residents can snack on healthy food like fruit, during the day. Staff converse with residents and plan some activities with them, and it is up to the residents if they feel like joining or not. The atmosphere is relaxed, warm and cozy, something between a friendly college dorm and a self-catering holiday apartment ; it is not like a hospital or a hotel setting, which I think is much better for someone who has lived in her own house for most of her life. [name removed]and [name removed], who manage the site and work with the residents are very helpful. I would strongly recommend this place.

Great Place for those with limited resources .
The staff is excellent but they do not have a bus so no going to store to shop and the food is fair but they do try to please you. Good value if you are on a limited budget.

Treats you like family
We went with The Senior Residence at Se. Peter Apostle because they offered a comparable level of service for almost $2000 less a month. The facility is smaller with only 20 rooms, it is a former convent so you have to be ok with a small room versus some other places that had large rooms. They have communal bathrooms and showers but there are 4 per hall so she has never had to wait. In terms of services, the other places we saw were not offering much more than this one and were more expensive. Here they offer 3 meals a day and access to coffee and tea throughout the day in a common room. It offers towel and bedsheet cleaning. But they do not have as many activities provided which is ok. The atmosphere is homey and she is comfortable here. I would absolutely recommend that others check it out. Staff are amazing and it doesn't matter who it is, they are super helpful to the residents. You can reach the director at anytime, she even gave me her phone number if we needed anything.

Mom's new home
It is a very homey atmosphere as opposed to a medical type setting. The apartment sizes are on the smaller side, but the goal is for residents not to be in their rooms but to go socialize instead. They have a ton of things provided for people to get out and do. The value for the money is outstanding. I would recommend them and already have.

Loved the atmosphere of this place! Warm ,inviting, comfortable and quiet with 24 hour awake staff on duty with medication control and administration. Less than 6 miles from my home. Downside, they don't take Medicare.

A Family Atmosphere
I cannot say enough about St. Peter's Senior Residence. Our family feels so very blessed to have found such a caring environment for our brother Kevin.The facility is immaculate, warm and inviting. I am amazed at the degree to which every detail of daily living has been thoughtfully orchestrated. My brother needs consistent and loving support with meals, meds and daily living, He was only there a couple of months before he referred to the residents and helpers as his "St. Peter's family" The emotional atmosphere is intimate and personal.
The staff does so much to celebrate the individual. The food is home made and outstanding. He can get his room cleaned, his cloths washed. The food is very good and they accommodate for different dietary needs. Rates are reasonable for what is provided. All in all, a win!

What a great place!
From our family's initial contact several months ago, St Peter's has been the answer to our prayers. Our brother is thriving and enjoying living there. The staff members know the residents and really care about them. Meals are well prepared and the place is spotless. It is a great mix of privacy and social interaction. Gina helped us all from the first time we met her and continues to do so. St. Peter's has enabled our brother to live as independently as possible, which is what he really wanted and deserved after dealing with a long illness. Our family and brother couldn't be happier........

A place for Dad
Took a look at St. Peter's for my Dad. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this place. It is newly renovated, comfortable and clean. My Dad felt perfectly comfortable right away. My Mom passed away almost 5 years ago and while Dad is quite capable of living on his own, we felt he needed company with minimal assistance. The staff is wonderfully friendly and are interested in all the stories and memories our Dad spoke about. The room is just the right size for a single person. It offers privacy when he wants some quiet time. Having both the church and the park nearby is great. Dad can attend daily mass and then take a walk. There is not an overwhelming amount of activities,so he doesn't feel like he is on a cruise ship and being forced to socialize when he doesn't want to. The sun porch is a great place for him to sit and read his paper. We are happy healthy meals are prepared for him daily and he is happy there are snacks available 24 hours a day.
Overall we are very happy with St. Peter's and hope Dad will be there for many years to come.

Our agency had the privilege of providing caregivers to The Senior Residence for the first year and a half of its operation when that function was brought in-house. The Residence is adjacent to Van Saun Park and is a great option for seniors looking for an independent community in the Bergen County area. The facility offers the charm of a traditional building--high ceilings, hardwood floors and a beautiful, brick-enclosed sun porch--along with the comforts and convenience of a modern kitchen and bathrooms. The staff are caring and responsive. St. Peter is truly a home to its residents.

A few things could be improved.
There's not much going on at all for activity. The parking is a problem for the residents who have a car, it's kind of far. The food could be better, it's the quality and the variety that is offered. We really liked the location, and the price was reasonable. The rooms are a little small but it's homey.

A Great Affordable Senior Housing
The building is beautiful and was recently renovated with beautiful new bathrooms, high ceilings with ceiling fans. There is a full sun room, sitting rooms and TV room. The co-directors and staff are responsive and caring. If your parent is mentally alert, independent and social this is a beautiful, affordable option.

A place for mom is a great tool and service for finding and making the difficult decisions concerning elder care. I cannot speak highly enough about Clyde Anderson and St, Peter's!! He has gone far and beyond any expectations anyone could have . Highly recommend this excellent place. Though my brother will not be staying with them, You could not find a more a more friendlier, clean and enjoyable environment for your loved ones.
