Conveniently located in the heart of Northern Virginia, the Hermitage is a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) offering various levels of care and services that promote an independent lifestyle regardless of needs. A not-for-profit community, owned and operated by Virginia United Methodist Homes, Inc., the Hermitage has been home for area seniors for over 40 years. We consider retirement to be a celebration of life, a time to nurture the mind and spirit, and a time to develop warm lasting relationships. Apartments range from cozy studios to spacious two bedroom units for Independent and Assisted Living. Breathtaking panoramic views of the Washington skyline are seen from the penthouse. And unlike most CCRCs, no large entrance fee is required at the Hermitage. Residents and families can give the Hermitage a try without the huge financial commitment of an entrance fee; once here, we are confident that residents will want to make the Hermitage their permanent home. When the needs arise, full nursing care is available in the Benjamin M. Smith Healthcare Center. Licensed nurses proved care 24 hours a day in both the Healthcare Center and Assisted Living. Restorative therapy is also available.

On this website, we use the term "assisted living" as a general business description for communities that provide some level of assistance with daily living activities. This generic term is not intended to indicate whether any particular facility meets applicable State requirements with respect to providing a particular level of care. We strongly recommend that, when considering any community, you request to see their state license and/or contact your state's licensing authority for clarification on license type and the services they are able to provide.
