About the facility Mira Vie Montville
The Chelsea at Montville provides a welcoming environment with a circle drive and shaded seating area on the front porch. Cozy common areas foster a social atmosphere, and seniors take part in a wide variety of activities. Mealtimes delight the senses, with several entrees available for lunch or dinner and desserts sure to delight anyone with a sweet tooth.
Assisted living residents can receive respectful assistance with personal care tasks. Caregivers seek to involve residents in community life, and get to know each person’s likes and dislikes.
Personalized memory care is offered in a secure area of the community called the Country Cottage. Caregivers here receive specialized training, and plan activities suited to the abilities of the residents. Secure areas in the memory care unit allow for autonomy while staying safe.
Montville offers residents easy access to shopping and dining, as well as several historical and cultural attractions. The Montville Museum, built in 1867, was once a one-room schoolhouse. Residents can take in a local show at The Barn Theater or visit one of several local parks.

A friendly staff.
What we like the most about The Chelsea at Montville community is all of the staff members and other residents who are living there - everyone is just so nice. Based on the experience we have had so far with this community, we would recommend them to others looking for a place for their loved ones.

Loving and caring environment
Our loved one is no longer there, but he was happy there and the family thought he was safe there and well cared for. I loved that when we picked him up or dropped him off, everyone called him by name from the first week! The front desk would always be able to tell me what kind of day he had before I got up to see him

peace of mind
My mother in law has memory issues and if you listened to her you would believe that she is always alone. When we go to see my mother in law everyone is so nice and helpful. They say things like "Oh you are her son. We have heard all about you." So I know that they are with her and speak with her and help her even if she doesn't remember that.
I would recommend The Chelsea at Montville for those looking for care for their loved ones. if I hadn't gone and visited myself you could start to believe what my mother in law was saying. But I can see for myself how nice they are to her.

Attentive staff, 5 star facility, very happy at The Chelsea
5 stars all the way across the board, our family has been very happy with The Chelsea at Montville.
The main reason we went with this facility was because of their willingness to take Medicaid when my mom's funds run out, that was a big plus for us.
The facility is very clean and the staff is very attentive. The nursing staff keeps me well informed on my Mom's health. The custodial staff keeps my Mom's room and the rest of the facility clean and well- organized.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful at the Chelsea.
I would definitely recommend them to others looking. I will say that they focused more on assisted living. My loved one needed constant care, so we had to move.

Very kind and caring
We are very happy with the Chelsea of Montville. Had to move my father under very stressful conditions and the office staff was very understanding and helpful. My dad has been there for 5 months and he is very happy and so are we. The staff is kind and caring. We would have no problem recommending the Chelsea to anyone.

I toured this community. The lady we worked with was very nice and gave me a lot of good information and suggestions. The residents here are less mobile and interactive. It didn't fit our needs. However, I would recommend it as an option for those seeking care for loved one's who are less mobile/wheelchair bound or specific care needs (dementia, etc). It was clean and staff was friendly.

Based on our tour, I thought The Chelsea was horrific. When we walked in, they had their residents in wheelchairs sitting all around the concierge area. And a lot of them were out of it and slumped over in their chairs. It just didn’t give a very nice impression. Also, the smell of disinfectant hit you in the face so strongly that my first thought was - if that smell is so strong, what smell are they trying to hide?

Terrible
The Chelsea is not a healthy place for your parent. They are very short staffed and don not train their staff to be considerate and caring
Most of them can barely speak english and this is difficult for old folks
The aids and nurses are overworked and irritable and short with the residents. I even had an aid yell at my father. The medical support is weak.
The place is often dirty and unkept
Don't be fooled by their tour. The management is uncaring also

Strongly Recommend
The staff is very nice and very welcoming. They answered all of my questions. They're very caring. My loved one has fallen a few times and they've immediately called me to let me know what's going on. It seems like a very well run operation. The room is not huge but nice. There's a bathroom with a big bedroom / living room area. I kind of expected it to be a furnished room, but it's not. And that' seems to be the standard across the industry. Everything I've seen has been pretty clean - nothing dirty, nothing laying around that shouldn't be laying around. My loved one tells me the food is very good. They've just now all been vaccinated, so they're starting to get activities going again.

Overall good community
During the six weeks our loved one was there, everything was fine. The overall facility was clean and most of the staff members were wonderful and treated our loved one wonderfully. She really enjoyed playing the activities they offered. However we did have to stay on top of the staff about somethings, her garbage at times was not taken our, and her laundry had not been done for a week.

I would recommend The Chelsea at Montville. It served my loved one's needs while they were there.
The room was comfortable for my loved one.
My loved one was able to choose their food and they enjoyed it.

Tread with Caution
I would probably to tell them to look somewhere else other than this community. I feel that they weren't attentive to my loved one. We were telling them what needed to be done with my loved one, repeatably.
The food was good for my loved one. The room was a single room and it was dark and old. The space was good.

Overall great place for a loved one
Before COVID the residents would go on outings to Walmart once a week, they had painting classes and bingo. The staff was very friendly and we found this place to be very open, airy and very welcoming. The rooms are about standard size including a bedroom and a small bathroom.

Friendly and Caring Services for Your Loved One
I would feel very safe to recommend this place for my friends' loved ones. I had my loved one there for a year, and her care was excellent.
The room was very nice. She was by herself in a large room, and a bathroom in her room. We were able to use her own furniture. They do ask for you to provide your own furniture start with.

The Chelsea At Montville
We had a wonderful experience with The Chelsea. The community was usually clean. The staff was very nice and we thought the care was very good as well. They did have some activities available for the residents to participate in although our aunt wasn't able to participate all that much. We absolutely thought The Chelsea At Montville was worth the cost. They were very helpful in all aspects of our aunt's care and the staff are top notch.

Close By and Comfy
It was mom's idea to go into assisted living. After looking at a few local communities, we decided on The Chelsea in Montville.
Pros: lots of activities, friendly staff, large closet space, and almost everything is on one floor.
Cons: mom sometimes waits longer than she'd like for assistance, and food is sometimes not as warm or tasty as she would want it.
I was impressed that we fit all this furniture in the room: XL twin bed, dresser, chest of drawers, 2 nightstands, wing chair, and kitchenette table. Plus they supply a small fridge and counter/cabinet combo. This still leaves plenty of floor space in the middle of the room.
Besides a large dining toom, the common space has chair groupings, a small coffe/tea area. There is slso a library/game room, a tv room, and a craft/kitchen room. I'm excited to see what the outside courtyards and gardens look like once the weather warms up.
