Each time I visit it is apparent that the community cares about the residents placing them first. The community is clean, new renovation bright, endless welcoming and truly friendly. The staff show the utmost respect to the residents, their family & friends. The events are top shelf! Bands like Boys of Summer, Porcelain Dolls, The House Band in Williamsville have all performed to large crowds with standing ovations. This is a place to move into to enjoy LIVING. Activities are fun & vibrant, 7 days a week. The directors , with their staff are there every day , even on weekends! Best decision you can make!

Our father is so happy now
We took one tour and we were already hooked on Solstice. We had no need to go anywhere else. The food is really good. He loves his cheerful bright unit and has made several friends already. The live music and trips planned look like a lot of fun and he’s willing to try them. The housekeeper has been nothing but helpful and the girls at the front desk are always respectful and friendly. He has no need for a cell phone bc he has a landline hooked up. The cable is included. The management is involved in every corner of the operation and assured us from day one that he would love it and he does. Thank you to everyone involved.

Best community to live, work or visit
Solstice Senior Living at East Amherst is full occupancy for a reason- elders who are extremely happy, inspired and looking for a chapter of fun & friendship. The associates all work well together, help one another and want only the BEST for our residents. The teamwork has been awarded for its #1 satisfaction rates within our company. Our residents and family members are grateful for us, all but we in return know that without them Solstice wouldn't be the positive amazing culture it is. An honor to work for such a committed community for excellence.

Why did I wait so long? Loved it
I am almost 98 years old, still drive, make friends and enjoy socializing with others. Everything here at Solstice at East Amherst makes me feel safe & comfortable, happy & satisfied. The food is very good, I sit with new friends and there are many choices. I appreciate that housekeeping is once a week as well as the changing of my bedding. I haven't laughed this much in decades! I wish I didn't wait so long to move here because I mean it - I LOVE it.

Very pleased with my new life at Solstice at East Amherst
I have lived here for 3.5 years and enjoy all of the great food choices, activities that involve wellness efforts like walking club, exercise classes and cultural experiences too. The friendly atmosphere and culture is what I needed! Management is always available, leads with confidence tackling concerns and fixes what is promised. The staff is wonderful.

Review for Solstice Senior Living at East Amherst
It's very nice, but is not really assisted living, so be sure of what you need when making the decision. We picked this place because she is on a waiting list for Assisted Living. We may need to move her when a unit becomes available there. We moved her into Solstice because there are aides there and we needed to get her into a place where staff was available 24/7 if she needed them.

Superb Staff and Fabulous Facility!
They are very friendly and helpful. Many go out of their way to talk to you or say hello. The facility is like a country club for older folks! So nice, renovated in many rooms, many activities and special services are available on campus like gym, hair salon, pool table/ bar room, library and lounge. The dining room is beautiful and spacious!

It's a nice, friendly place, and my Mom loves it!
Everything is super nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. My mom adjusted very well and does love it there after living in her house for like 58 years... You get your own privacy also, as much as you want, and many other activities as well. Beautiful place outside in the summer also - very cozy.

Everything at Solstice is all A-1. I only ate there once. Mom and all the residents complain about the food, but I thought it was good. I like that the facility doesn't smell, and people seem happy!

Dirty and poor management.
My father in law was here for over a year and it became so intolerable, we were forced to move him.
He became physically ill more than once from the food. While kitchen staff and management knew he had issues with chewing, they often served him leather like meat, he would leave the table hungry.
His apartment included weekly cleaning, there were times where cleaning staff didn't clean for an entire month and when they did it was never properly cleaned. To be honest...it was filthy.
Don't let the pretty entrance fool you...this place is run like a cheap hotel.
Management is condescending.....

Good afternoon. We are sorry to hear about your experience with Solstice Senior Living. Many of our residents have dietary concerns that we review upon move in with them and their loved ones. We then invite our residents to meet with our culinary services department regularly with any concerns.
In regards to community housekeeping, we have three Full time housekeepers that continue to keep our community safe, clean and free of safety concerns. If however, a resident denies their apartment cleaning visit, we respect their wishes. After a few weeks if a resident denies a housekeeping appointment with our staff, one of our managers meet with them or call their family to ensure safety and proper cleanliness. It is our residents choice to use our amenities or not. We are happy discuss these concerns privately or at our monthly all- resident meetings. Food Matters!
Meals at Solstice are horrible. My parents lived there for 21/2 years and I saw what was served often. There were no “chef” inspired meals or a “culinary team”. The meals were unappetizing, poorly made and lacking nutrition. What a disappointment for seniors who rely on their meals being served to them. It really makes life miserable to never ever have good meal especially with the cost so high.The wrong meals were served, service was delayed by hours or NO food was served. On several occasions my parents were served a microwaved hotdog, no bun and nothing else. They were served peanut butter sandwiches and told they had no food in the kitchen. Neither of my parents can eat peanut butter. We often brought food to supplement what they were not getting. Simple pleasures like eating should never be denied anyone especially our seniors who need love and care the most. Many requests were made to management seeking a solution. Nothing was ever done.

Don’t underestimate the importance of FOOD
Maybe not the first thing that comes to mind when looking for Senior Living is food. Seniors deserve to have the benefits of good food for health and to make their lives pleasant. My parents lived at Solstice for 2 1/2 years. I saw their meals almost everyday. The food was consistently horrible in taste, presentation and nutrition. How disappointing it was for them everyday having to pick through their food to find anything edible. We brought food to supplement what was served because the calorie intake was not sufficient. On several occasions they were served a hotdog, no bun, and nothing else. Other times they were given a peanut butter sandwich & told they had run out of food. Several times they had NO meal. All was brought to the attention of management on many occasions to no avail. We were given false hopes that things would get better but they never did. Shame on you for taking away one of life’s simplest pleasures from those that need it most. No concessions were offered.

If your loved one is considering senior living, I would recommend considering Solstice. It's a very nice place.
My loved one loves it here. She adjusted very well and quickly, and she made friends right away. The apartment is lovely - it's very roomy, especially for an efficiency apartment. She has plenty of room for her own furniture and items. And we're very happy with the all-around situation.

Wonderful Community
The care services are wonderful. My loved one likes the food, so there is no complaints. They offer a lot of activities, but my loved one has not participated yet. We picked this community, because another family member had been to this community, and also for the price, meals, it was clean, and we knew it would be perfect for my loved one. Everyone is do nice, and happy, and the people seem to enjoy working there.

A beautiful place we put my mom into.
I think there are plenty of activities to keep the residents vibrant. The food is excellent. My mom compliments it often. They also have a nurse who visits the residents on a regular basis and keeps in communication with me, which is excellent and has been very helpful to me since I live at a distance from my mother. The apartments are very comfortable. We were able to bring in all of her own furniture and wall hangings so she feels like she's at home. The grounds are beautiful, with lots of flowers and seating areas so they can sit outside in good weather.

A Pleasant Place to Live
It's very pleasant here. There are a few areas that could be better, but on the whole, it's a very pleasant place. It's a nice atmosphere with friendly people. I love my apartment. It's bright, and I have a great view. It's conveniently located. One area for improvement would be meal service. It can take a long time to be served lunch and dinner. But I understand that service and staffing issues are a problem everywhere right now.

This is a beautiful place for your parent to live
I like the staff a lot at this community. Just like a lot of the other communities they are experiencing some staffing issues at this time. My loved one does not participate in the activities but whenever I come there is always something going on in the community. This community is absolutely gorgeous and the views are nice. This community is very beautiful.
