Patriots Home Care is unique among home care agencies – we specialize in helping veterans, or their surviving spouses who qualify, to access a Department of Veterans Affairs’ “Aid & Attendance” benefit to pay for home care. We then provide the home care so our clients can continue to live in dignity in their own homes. But you don't need to be a veteran to take advantage of our personalized services. We are a full-service home care provider, offering assistance with activities of daily living for all seniors.Patriots Home Care was founded by St. Louisan Bonnie Laiderman, who took care of her own mother, Eadie Sperling, until Eadie’s death in 2002. Eadie was the surviving spouse of a Korean War veteran, who desperately needed home care after being diagnosed with cancer; Bonnie flew down to Eadie’s home in Florida for at least a week every month to care for her as best she could. Eadie would have qualified for the VA pension to pay for home care, but Bonnie didn’t find out about it until late in Eadie’s illness. After Eadie passed away, Bonnie started her own home care agency, which focused exclusively on helping veterans or their surviving spouses get the pension, and providing them with care. Just recently, Bonnie, concerned about the needs of older adults who she couldn’t help because they didn’t qualify for the VA pension, decided to open Patriots Home Care. Patriots Home Care specializes in services to Aid & Attendance clients, but offers the same loving, thoughtful home care to all seniors that Bonnie has been providing for more than eight years to veterans.
