Oakwood Village Prairie Ridge is located on Madison's near east side. Oakwood Village Prairie Ridge is a part of Oakwood Lutheran Senior Ministries, a not-for-profit, Lutheran church-sponsored organization established in 1948. In addition to Independent Living and Skilled Nursing, the Prairie Ridge campus offers assisted living at three different levels. Oakwood Seasons Assisted Living is a comfortable community for those who may need some help remembering to take medications, eat a well-balanced meal or even need some assistance bathing or dressing. Each of the private suites has its own bathroom. At Oakwood Knoll, older adults with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of memory loss live in a community-based residential facility (CBRF). There are both private and semi-private rooms, with bathrooms built for easy accessibility. Oakwood Meadows is a place for those who may need a higher level of attention and assistance. Oakwood Meadows fills the gap in the traditional continuum of care by providing the most independent environment possible for those in need of significant custodial care. Current Oakwood residents receive priority consideration to transfer within the Oakwood system to the appropriate level of care should their needs change. Oakwood offers residents an extensive array of services and activities, all under one roof, and is committed to creating a strong sense of community and providing residents with holistic care - enhancing the health of the mind, body, and spirit. Our Tree of Life Chapel, located near the assisted living neighborhoods, and pastoral care staff help provide residents with spiritual support should they desire, and daily activities are geared towards expanding resident’s abilities rather than focusing upon possible disabilities. We encourage resident involvement in the community whenever possible and believe that fostering new friendships are key to positive mental health.
