Great Staff & Comforting Environment
My mother has lived at Mill Creek for two years -- and she was very resistant to a change prior to moving. But after a month she was won over by the caring staff, kind kitchen crew, good food, and ability to get care while respecting her efforts at autonomy. She is content within the rhythms of daily life at Mill Creek! As a long distance care giver I am deeply appreciative of the support and kindness given to my mother.

Grateful For Mill Creek!
We wanted to move our mother closer to where we live, so we went online and began reading reviews of all facilities. Our first choice was Mill Creek, and it was evident 5 minutes into the tour that we had found a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for our mother. It is difficult to 'hand over' a loved one to complete strangers; however, [name removed] was direct and honest when answering our questions. We were grateful for the clean, attractive and overall appearance of every aspect of the facility. The rooms are bright and well cared for, no matter when we visit. There are numerous activities for the residents, but they have a choice whether or not to participate...no pressure. It has been six months, and the consistent, positive interactions between the staff and the residents is to be commended. All staff members are positive and respectful to all residents. Overall, that is a huge factor that allows us to leave after each visit knowing that our mom is in the best of hands.

Very Supportive Environment
My mother has been at Mill Creek for nearly two years. This facility was recommended by a friend whose wife had lived there; he was very satisfied with the care his wife had received.
When she moved to Springfield, my mother lived at an independent living facility. In the early years of her living there, she had done very well. She went for the congregate meals, participated in the organized activities, and even organized activities -- mostly card games -- herself. However, with the passage of time, her memory declined, the friends she'd made wither died or moved away, she became less and less able to handle her medications, other residents did not want to socialize with her, and she began having falls.
After a severe fall, which resulted in a three week stay at a rehab hospital, it became evident that it was time for her to move to a more supportive environment, where the staff were trained to deal with memory disorders and the other residents would have a level of functioning sim

A place with caring staff
I think the staff are very pleasant and accommodating. It is, however, too expensive and the price has escalated. We picked this community, because of my mother's behavioral issues were a major concern that other facilities would not accommodate.

They love my mom like family
From the first day at Mill Creek, the competent team has looked after my mom as if she was their mom. The three women who hold leaderships roles have been there for several years, providing stability and maintaining expectations. Mill Creek provides a fun, loving, safe environment. Best facility in town
The staff here have been amazing even prior to admitting my mom. They were always available for my questions (and I had lots). I toured many places and almost didn’t choose this one because they had activities all day. I didn’t think my mom would like that but she loves them and it’s good for her! They helped me even get her there because she didn’t understand what was going on and wanted to stay in her home. It was a difficult time and they went above and beyond and were so compassionate. I’m so glad I chose Mill Creek.

Extremely responsive, very nice facility, very caring staff
The staff members at Mill Creek are incredible and extremely friendly - they are very responsive to our phone calls and are more then willing to listen to us and speak with us. Whenever we finish up our call they always say "if something else comes up, do not hesitate to reach out," which we really appreciate because not many people do that. We were able to dine with the management team before move in because covid protocols were still in play and the meals seem very good. The facility itself is very nice, they do have activities and we would definitely recommend this community to other families.

Poor experience
Grandmother was placed here and not taken care of or supervised in the very short lived amount of time she was there. She was consistently left in a wet or soiled depends she was often not changed out of her day clothes for over 24 hour periods
When I asked / raised questions concerns none of them where taken care of in fact I was surprised by what I brought to their attention that they weren’t more concerned on my grandmother behalf but they acted as if these complaints were normal and brushed them off . There were no logs as to who cared or left my grandmother in that condition and to do this day still aren’t . I often left things out in certain places to see if they cleaned or did a daily maintenance which also was not done .. I worry for the elderly their as some of them do not have family that check on them

It's not home, but it's as close as you can get
I think they've done the best that they can under the circumstances with Covid. Not being able to go in and visit has been really difficult for our family, and it's difficult to evaluate Mill Creek, as all of our interaction has been over the phone. The staff has been pretty good, but they could improve on follow-up. I don't think they're as quick at follow-up as they could be. I think they've done as good a job as they can helping me stay in contact with my loved one, considering dementia in general and then the Covid situation on top of that. My loved one tells me they keep it really clean. I think they're pretty good generally.

A caring place for your loved ones!
We love the place, they have done a wonderful job adapting towards our loved one. We honestly like everything about it, we can call 24 hours a day and someone always answers. We can face time, Skype or do window visits. Especially during the pandemic they have gone above and beyond to make sure that everything is clean and everyone is taken care of. The administration, activities director, nurses and CNA's are all friendly and wonderful. Our loved one loves it there.

I would highly recommend Mill Creek. This place has been able to take great care of my loved one.
The food is enjoyed by loved one.
My loved one's room was initially shared with a roommate. The first room had a shared bathroom, with no shower. The room did have a closet and enough room for my loved one. They ended up moving to a private room.

Very Nursing Home-ish
This community seemed more nursing home-ish to me. There seemed to be a quite good sized staff that was interacting with people that lived there, but I just feel like there were too many people there. The residents and staff were very friendly and they get to know the people living there extremely well. They also have a surprising amount of activities that residents can enjoy at one time. They have a bigger variety of things to enjoy.

Mom is doing exceptionally well since moving here. The staff is friendly and very helpful and treating her well. She is starting on physical therapy and an exercise program to get her going after being ill for a couple of weeks.
The place is very clean and maintained well no housekeeping issues. The room my mom is in is spacious so she was able to bring some personal belongings with her so she feels at home.
She seems to like the food she has never eaten a lot but what she does eat she seems to enjoy it.
The location is perfect for us since it's no more than 10 minutes from my home.

While the new start is going pretty good my mom has staff that are pretty nice. She tells me they are nice. I see
the cleanliness is fine here. My mom is happy with the meals that are very good, she has no complaints. We mainly picked because of the size. We didn't want a very large community. A Place For Mom helped us find them.

Very stimulating environment.
My loved one is adjusting very well and quickly. They stay on top of things. He had a cough one day and within four hours they had an x-ray and a prescription for medicine. He didn't even have to leave they brought everything to him.There is a lot more stimulation here. They offer many activities. He's a singer and they have choir everyday. The songs are from his youth and he remembers all the words.
