About Maple Glen Memory Care (Opening Spring 2017)*

Maple Glen Memory Care is one of 22 Koelsch Communities. Together, the Koelsch family has more than five decades in developing, building and operating senior housing. The tradition began in 1958 when Emmett Koelsch and Alice Koelsch-Schultz founded the company and employed the simple philosophy, “Treat all people with the respect they deserve and the special attention they may need.”
Through the years, the technology and research applied to each community have advanced, however, the underlying philosophy has remained the same. Now in eight states Koelsch Communities is proud to announce the addition of Maple Glen Memory Care in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
Maple Glen will honor 65 residents in an atmosphere that supports each resident on his/her individual journey through life with dementia. At Maple Glen, we have a passion for improving residents’ quality of life by providing exercise, stimulating conversation, socialization, activities, outings, hobbies, music, pet therapy; and by catering to individual dietary preferences. Every aspect of our community focuses on helping each resident get the most out of life. All Maple Glen associates will utilize the specially designed Personal Touch ProgramSM, instilling significance in every interaction.
We invite Maple Glen residents to choose from three types of room accommodations: private suites, neighborhood suites (private bedroom with shared bathroom) and semi-private suites (shared bedroom and bathroom space). Each suite is equipped with state-of-the-art motion sensors designed to alert staff to resident activity. Strong relationships with local, Glen Ellyn educational establishments result in outstanding intergenerational programming. Maple Glen will offer a broad spectrum of memory care services including respite and hourly care.
Koelsch Communities are committed to bringing dignity, respect and the highest standards of service to our residents and family members.

We Love Helping Families Find the Right Senior Care

"I have to thank you once again for your support through this process. The biggest help was understanding the levels of care available and most appropriate for my parents. The facilities you identified helped us streamline the list of possible locations within the geographic area my parents were looking for."

Kathleen O., Found Assisted Living in Shiloh, IL

"I am so grateful for the help and support my adviser provided during this emotional transition. He was supportive of me and my family and provided the guidance we needed to select the correct place for my parents. He asked the right questions which helped us to find the right place."

Katherine S., Found Assisted Living in Arlington Heights, IL

Senior Resistance to Change and Care

When: 12/13/2016 at 6 pm until 7 pm

Where: Johnson Recreation Center 172 S Circle Bloomingdale, IL

My Life is a Struggle but I Don't Want Help: Senior Resistance to Change and Care Denying the need for support and care seems to be an almost universal phenomenon among seniors. Most seniors prefer to "go it alone" rather than accept help. This presentation will help identify some of the reasons seniors may respond this way, what their greatest fears might be, and how we can effectively work with them to identify real needs and resolve them.
