A Place for Mom arranged for me to call a certain company about veteran services. It was for Americans and not Canadians. So I would recommend in the future recommending the proper organization for the country the resident lives in and served for.Other than that A Place for Mom was very helpful to us during a difficult time and I am very grateful for that.

Extremely Satisfied
I was extremely satisfied with how my husband was taken care of. I loved the room,it was a nice size. The tub wasnt great,and it needed a walk in shower.My husband was very happy with the food and I liked that I could read the reports that occurred every day when I was gone. My husband's brother had passed away when I was gone. I phoned to let them know what happened and I then phoned my husband to tell him. They checked on him and someone came and sat and talked to him. I just felt everyone went out of there way, to help especially the directors.

Overall it's a pretty good place. The people are very friendly. Everybody says hi and talks to each other, and we sit together at meal times. The staff is absolutely fantastic. They get you everything that you want if they can possibly do it. They're very friendly as well. I feel good about the apartment, and it's big enough. We have a good size living room, and a bathroom with a door in between the toilet and the sink. We also have a laundry room, and a full kitchen They also come in and clean once a week, which includes changing and making up the beds with clean sheets.

happy with choice.
We are happy. mom indicates she likes the food. I like all staff and am impressed with the facilities. Mom has gotten. Involved in many social activities and seems to likes them.

NEW RESIDENTS
My sister has only recently moved in and appears to be getting used to it. so far everything has been really good and the management and staff have been extremely helpful

Be Wary
The annual increases from this facility exceed the inflation rate. My niece works at a Senior's facility and they encourage input via a committee from senior's family, no such committee at this facility. They do not address on-going concerns from the seniors such as complaints about the food. As per a previous comment, if the senior is in hospital they will still be expected to pay rent which is fair but also they will be paying for food which is not fair. The cleaning service is about 15 min. per week.

Disappointed!
My aunt is dying and the Parent Company (Atriia) is still charging her for Two months rent. We gave notice on Feb. 4th, but because we didn’t carefully read the contract and we’re not expecting my aunt’s rapid decline March’a rent is demanded.

More help needed
The facilities are great for independent living. There are a number of residents that require supported help. A nurse should be available at all times. The staff and management should be available to help in unexpected incidents and solving problems. Should be more engaged for the residents that require supported help. They should be working with health services. The monthly cost is based on assumption that the residents will use or be involved in all activities and programs which seems to be a high cost for monthly rent. Review of management and staff needs to be conducted on a yearly basis with regards to productivity, professionalism, caring, concern and compassion at all times throughout the day.

Best Place for your loved one
My Mom LOVES this place! She is making so many friends and loves all the activities. One important thing for our family is that my Mom is happy and she is. We almost have to make an appointment to see her. The food is awesome as well, I have eaten there several times with my Mom and it is always good

My mother really liked her experience at Ironwood.
The most difficult time she was initially when she was trying to find a place to sit in the dining room. One resident befriended her and had her sit with her so it became easier.

Good environment except for the food
Our aunt seems somewhat happy at Ironwood, though is still getting settled into her new lifestyle. Our concerns fall with the complaints about the food. As I understand from executive chef friends, our taste buds change with age and often don't function as they once did. However, with this in mind I would have expected more effort to be placed on resident satisfaction in this area. Residents aren't even sure of the chef/cook's qualifications. Do you have a professional chef on staff with the skills to add flavour to meals, or a short order cook? For the price these seniors are paying, that is a fair question.
Otherwise we have been happy with the facility and staff and feel we have made a good decision.

Review of Ironwood Estates Saint Albert, AB
The experience that my grandmother and her family had with Ironwood Estates was a wonderful one. I can not say enough good things about the place. The services and activities they provided were outstanding and it was nice to see they extended it out to family as well.

Our thanks to [Removed] for an excellent tour of the facilities and taking the time to answer all of our questions. the facilities are older and are starting to show wear and tear but are in pretty good condition.
[Removed] explained that the facility is going to get upgrades to all of the common areas over the next little while that will I am sure make the place even more appealing

Peace Of Mind Knowing My Father Is In A Good Community
I'am satisfied with my fathers move to this community. He is doing well, and everything has worked out great. This is a good community with kind people. They have a good staff, and they are great to work with. I do feel less stressed out because I know he is in good hands. They do a great job with the cleanliness around the facility. There are good activities offered, and nice meals provided. This is a community I would recommend to my family, and friends. It has worked out very well for us.
