She was on hospice for a few months. The facility is small and has a limited amount of residents. There are private and semi private rooms. They did a good job with keeping the residents clean in regards to diaper changes. The staff was sweet with my mother. They do eat early dinners and start bedtime early which works well there. They staff down at night which means if you show up later you may need to wait to get help in and out of the locked doors (no big deal). The hospice used there was absolutely wonderful throughout the dying process. They were super at giving me updates and letting me know what is going on while I was at work. Called me when they saw changes and sat with me and her until she passed. She was well taken care of and staff is caring and I would suggest this place go others. And they continue to do so now that he is a resident. \nI can't say enough about the caregivers! The Iris team all truly care! They talk with you and learn about your loved one; they understand the disease and don't take a behavior personally; many have had a loved one with dementia and they all serve from the heart. They are very patient! Every visit, I come to know and appreciate each one of them more and more. \nThis facility offers a lot of activities, even on Saturday! They decorate for holidays, other special days and recognize birthdays. They distribute an event-filled calendar and publish a newsletter. The patio area is very nice, with a garden and lush greenery. Unlike other Memory Care communities which regularly have in excess of 40 residents in a building, Iris Memory Care has two separate buildings that are built for a maximum of 24 residents each. Advanced research has shown that those living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia thrive in a small, intimate environment, therefore our home-like model lends itself to maintaining each resident’s health, happiness, and freedom of movement.<br><br>An open floor plan in each building permits residents to easily navigate their way and allows staff to provide accessible care and supervision. Thanks to a higher staff to resident ratio compared to most Assisted Living communities, residents enjoy individualized attention and care every day at Iris Memory Care.<br><br>The kitchen and dining areas are designed to encourage community and social engagement. Meals are served from an open concept gourmet kitchen where you can see, smell, and hear the preparations and even have a chat with the chef. Families are encouraged to join their loved one any time for engagement and conversation over a home-cooked meal!<br><br><h3>Innovative Activities</h3><br>Iris Memory Care believes that the best way to maintain a residents' quality of life, to help prevent falls, and to manage potential behavioral issues is to keep residents engaged in stimulating, interesting, and engaging activities!
