We had a great experience at Heritage Woods of Plainfield. It was very homey, kept clean, constant activities going on for those who chose to participate. They decorate for every holiday and occasion, and have one big event per month with an entertainer, different theme parties, etc. The staff was very nice and attentive. I'd highly recommended it and give it 5/5 stars.

A Loving Replacement Home for Your Family
I never thought I would be comfortable leaving my dad anywhere. But he is very well cared for. And he even likes it there. He loves the staff. If I were looking for a job, I would want to work there. In other words, it' s just a nice place to be. I'm very comfortable with my dad being there, and I never thought I would find a place like that.

Awesome Place
We have experienced very good things here. I have already recommended it to my family and neighbors. We've had a few little issues with medications. But other than that, the care has been good. My mom loves the food. We have not seen her this happy in a long time. We're really surprised how well she's taken to it. She loves it there. They have a lot of awesome activities. And I think it's a good value.

A good place for a loved one
Our loved one so far seems to really be enjoying the meals and dining service. She also is really enjoying all the activities the community has to offer. The cleanliness of Heritage Woods and friendliness of the staff really stood out to us. Also this community does offer Medicaid.

Our tour experience
Our family had an in person tour set up but once the doctor advised our loved one needed memory care we did not tour this community because it was only assisted living and independent living. However the people spoke with were very lovely, and very forth coming. We felt if we had any questions even if we weren't moving our loved in, that they would be very helpful and accommodating.

Heritage Woods made my sister happy.
My sister lived at Heritage Woods for the past several years. She recently passed away but I wanted to share her experience.
When she first moved to Heritage Woods from Arkansas she was pretty much a loner. She was shy and had few friends. We felt meeting more people was a good idea and since she was able to take care of her self with a little help, Heritage Woods seemed a good fit.
Heritage Woods was willing to take her Medicare and Medicaid as full payment and it allowed a stipend for personal needs each month.
My sister was reticent to get involved at first but quickly made up for lost time. She began running the bingo games, the Country Store and ran for and was elected to, the Presidency of the resident board multiple times! For the first time in her life she was reaching her potential. She was proud, happy and well liked by both residents and staff. She also encouraged other residents to get involved and have fun as well, especially new residents. Heritage Woods is a clean, spacious place with a friendly staff and lots of activities. From the manager, [name removed], to [name removed] the building engineer to the medical staff, CNAs and the lunch room crew, Heritage Woods has a great staff and some really friendly residents. My sister spent several happy years there, some of her happiest. I would recommend Heritage Woods as a safe, comfortable and stimulating place for those who need just a little help and don’t mind having a bit of fun too.

I am hoping that the issues we have had with medication reminders are in the past and that weekly apartments cleaning gets better. The whole staff seems to truly care about the residents and the facility is clean. For a facility that take medicaid, they are hands down the first choice.

Wonderful Place for Mom
I love the Heritage Woods of Plainfield facility for my mom. The facility is very clean and kept up, and it is a nice, newer building. I know I do not have to worry, as she loves living there, and is very well taken care of by the attentive, caring staff. She has her own 1-bedroom apartment overlooking the garden, which she so enjoys.
She has made many, many friends and is always busy.
She receives 3 wonderful meals that my mom always raves about and snacks whenever they want. They have movie nights, bingo, and other activities and they take the residents to go out shopping weekly.
The nursing staff makes certain that all the medications are always correct and distributed as prescribed as well as taking their vitals. They also have physical and occupational therapy on site as well as Doctors that come right to the facility.
My mom loves some of the staff there, particularly nurse [name removed] who is so very helpful, sweet and caring, Administrator [name removed], who has taken over the facility and done such a fabulous job of making such wonderful changes to the facility. He is always asking if anything is wrong or needs changing to make certain the residents needs are taken care of and that they are comfortable. [Names removed] are so helpful, and [name removed] her housekeeper who she loves and who always goes the extra mile to help my mom, and [name removed], who helps her stay active with lots of crafts.

Always room for a little improvement
My parents have been living at Heritage Woods of Plainfield for over two months now. We really like the management staff who have been and remain very helpful. All the staff show care and attention to our parents especially when Mom was experiencing the impact of cancer treatment plus she has many fears / anxieties.
They have a psychologist that comes to the community to meet with residents and we are grateful. They also have foot doctor that comes for residents and there is an audiology program that we hope parents can get into participate.
The activities allow residents to get a good routine for socializing and my dad made a friend the very first day he moved into the community. My Parents are regulars at bingo are special socials for holidays such as Thanksgiving. On Friday I joined my parents for a big thanksgiving buffet with other families of residents. My mom was actually smiling and enjoying herself now that she is regaining her strength.
One disappointment is when we toured in April there was a fitness room and when we moved parents in September the fitness room was eliminated and we found out when dad went to find it. They do have a few group exercise activities but there is not always a staff leader for the group activity. This means my dad is not doing it because he needs consistent routine.
Another disappointment was we learned that each December the rent increases and apparently that is for all Heritage Woods communities. We preferred Plainfield over Bolingbrook simply because Heritage Woods Bolingbrook was under going mgmt staff turnover earlier this year when we were looking for a new home for parents. It is probably stable now.

Wonderful Community
Mom is doing wonderfully at Heritage Woods of Plainfield. It is a clean and well-kept community. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. They are very welcoming to our family members when we come to visit. The staff is very friendly and attentive to my mom's care needs. The staff is easy to communicate any questions or concerns regarding my mom's needs. I would give the overall a rating of Heritage Woods a 5, and the food I would rate it a 4. Many of the residents I have spoken with while I'm dining with my mom feel the same about the food. My mom enjoys the various activities that the staff members encourage the residents to participate in. Her room is a small studio right now, she is waiting to move into a one bedroom. We helped her decorate her room so that it looks homier and more comfortable. Outside they offer nice places for the residents to relax and enjoy the fresh air. I would recommend this community to others.

My Thought Of The Tour
The apartment we were shown was small. I was not sure how you would be able to fit two people in it comfortably. The community looked clean and the people we met were nice and knowledgable. This community cost a little more than we were looking for.

The tour went well.
The staff at Heritage Woods of Plainfield were very courteous and friendly. The staff that offered the tour were knowledgeable and they were able to address all of our concerns. The community at Heritage Woods is well kept.
