AMAZING PLACE
My mom came to Georgian manor in bad shape. She had been hospitalized and had rehab for two months. She was depressed and had little motivation to do anything.
This place has turned my mom around!!!!
The staff is awesome and she has not only put on weight but is engaged in most of the activities including her 1st outing. She wants to get dressed, wear makeup, and jewelry. It’s just amazing to me. The rec team is excited to get the residents involved and keep them involved. The loving, caring staff from front desk to maintenance, nursing, dining, to admin have ALL made my mom recover faster. THANK YOU GEORGIAN MANOR!!!!

AMAZING PLACE

Our Experience
Very nice, smaller community than others in the area, nice large rooms. All the administrators were very friendly and helpful. The meals were well prepared and tasty!! The only draw back was the healthcare, my father was assessed as a level 5 (highest) which we were promised he'd get extra care which cost more. However, it was no different from level 1 and the nursing staff was terrible!! Inattentive, didn't take extra time for his needs, treated him more like a hassle than a person. Needless to say, my father went into the hospital twice in two weeks and decided he'd rather come home to die than go back.

Review for Commonwealth Senior Living at Georgian Manor
We picked this community because of the price, which is one of the highest of all that I investigated, I would hope the rooms to be higher quality. The closet doors, lighting, are on the level of low quality apartment rentals, and the maintenence around d the building is especially poor, with piled maintenance refuse behind the building....which is especially regrettable given the center is in an overall upscale region. I would recommend to others. We picked this community because of the location, the view from the room, the safety features in place.

Place Your Trust in Georgian Manor
Our experience with Commonwealth Senior Living at Georgian Manor has been top notch. When we arrived for our initial meeting with [name removed], the Marketing/Sales Director, we were immediately impressed with the look and the feel of the place. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My mom really enjoyed meeting everyone on the staff too. All of our questions were answered to our satisfaction and we were able to move my mom in quickly, which was a real relief. My mom enjoys the food! I would definitely recommend Commonwealth Senior Living at Georgian Manor to others.

Tour experience
We toured with Commonwealth at Goergian Manor and found the rooms to be very small, dark and crowded. There was also no storage space. That is why we did not choose this facility.

overall great experience
The reason why we chose Commonwealth Senior Living was because the community itself is very light, bright and clean. The staff members have been great. A few times when we have been there during the meals it seems to be pretty good. On the memory care side the activities are somewhat limited but based on our overall experience with Commonwealth we would definitely recommend this community to other families.

A small, friendly, resident-based community
Commonwealth Senior Living, like everyone else, is somewhat understaffed. There's a labor shortage, so I understand that they can't help that.
I like that the staff have been together for a long time, so they know each other well. It feels like there may not be that much turnover. I like that they are experienced and have worked with each other for awhile. I also like that it's a small community, so people don't get lost in the shuffle as they might in the larger multi-floor communities.
As far as activities; they take the residents out to meals, birthday parties, bingo, and they'll have them go outside to play with soil and garden. Even though my loved one doesn't participate much, they talked her into going outside to eat her lunch. That was nice because she really enjoyed that. Communication between the community and our family has been good; especially good during this difficult time, as my mother-in-law is in hospice. That created the need for me to communicate with them more, as it's very important right now.
Overall I would recommend Commonwealth to others.

A Great New Beginning for Mom
The staff have been very friendly. And they communicate well with us. The apartment is great. Mom was fortunate enough to get one of the larger ones, so it's a nice size, with a large bathroom and two closets. She has enjoyed socializing and playing cards and games with the other residents.

Georgian Manor for Mom
After determining that my mother could no longer be able to live on her own, we started looking for assisted care facilities in Chesapeake Virginia. We were looking for a place that we could transition into additional services when needed and one that my mother would feel at home when in her own room.
Upon visiting Georgian Manor, we were impressed with the friendliness and cleanliness as well as the longevity of the staff that would be looking after my mother. We also were able to decorate my mom’s room to make it feel like home as much as possible.
Three months later, my mother has made numerous friends, thoroughly loves the staff, and loves the food. In addition to social activities, she enjoys sitting outside in their courtyard and eating meals with her new friends.

They were great. The staff were very caring and helpful, from the clinical staff to the administration. The care my loved one received was great. She had a relatively short stay here, and move-in and move-out all went smoothly.

There are some staff that are wonderful and some that are horrible.
This community is one of the better in the area.

A great place for mom!
We are quite pleased with Commonwealth. Our only concern is that they are only allowed to use one particular pharmacy, which my mother's doctor that has identified as being much more expensive than other pharmacies in the area. If we were allowed to use a different pharmacy, we could save a lot of money.
Other than that, they have done a phenomenal job taking care of the residents. During the Covid-19 pandemic, they have done a good job protecting the residents and keeping them safe. They let me talk to my mother through the window so my she can see me and continue to have interaction. It has been really difficult for my mother to be quarantined, however we are thankful she is in a safe place.
We love Commonwealth at Georgian Manor and highly recommend it. We searched around for several places and it took several years for my mother to decide to move, and visited the community three times. When she moved in, she even knew some of the other residents! We don't have to worry about her safety and we trust the staff is doing everything they need to do to keep her healthy and safe. They truly care about the residents.

Everyone took amazing care of her and kept us in the loop when there were changes in her health. Staff encouraged her to participate in activities and engaged with the other residents. CSL Georgian Manor
My mother was a resident for nearly 5 years a CSL Georgian Manor. During her 10 year journey through Alzheimers, the staff at Georgian Manor were very commited to making her as comfortable as possible. They provided services, support groups referrals and an emotional connection that was so vital. Any concerns were addressed at the lowest level, but the manager and directors always were responsive to our needs.
During her time there, there were several staff changes, but the consistency of care was alway there. Her room was spacious, and the food was good. The effort to get Mom to eat was helpful.
Early in her residency there many activities, outings, entertainment and excursions she could participate in and I treasure the pictures posted by Georgian Manor of these events.
The most important referrals we recieved from Georgian Manor were so imprtant in her latter stages. As we all know Memory Care can be quite expensive, but we were referred to contacts to get the Veteran's Aid and Attendance Pension and finally we were referred to Westminster-Canterbury Hospice at Home services. Both of these services helped our family with additional care and finances.
I highly recommend Georgian Manor for those people who will ever need their valuable assistance.
