About Flushing House
Flushing House was one of the first communities to offer independent living for older adults, coupled with supportive services right on the premises.
Featured in New York Magazine (December 11, 2006), Flushing House was cited as the biggest and one of the best places for older adults in the area. Flushing House can offer affordable monthly rents for its studio and one-bedroom apartments. Each apartment features: a full bathroom; air-conditioning; euro-style kitchenette.
To assist residents with daily living, many supportive services are provided. Restaurant-style dining in the ground floor dining hall includes continental breakfast, lunch and dinner. Weekly housekeeping and linen exchange service is provided, plus concierge services, and 24-hour security with emergency intercoms in all apartments.
A comprehensive activities program includes arts and crafts, concerts, a computer center, fitness center, movies, game nights and trips each week on the Flushing House bus. They also feature an interfaith chapel, library, TV and game rooms, general store, beauty salon, and spectacular rooftop lounge and atrium overlooking the New York skyline.
Flushing House residents can acces the services of community partners Flushing Hospital and VIP Health Care Services, which provide an onsite satellite geriatric clinic, and onsite home health aides, respectively. Residents can use these or any provider they choose.
