For over 10 years, it has been our honor to provide assisted living level of care in the familiar residential setting of a board and care right here in Encinitas. We make it is possible to age with grace, dignity and purpose. Both homes provide care for up to 6 residents, with special attention to seniors with memory challenges. Our Philosophy1. The three plagues of aging (loneliness, helplessness and boredom) account for the bulk of suffering among our seniors. 2. An Elder-centered community commits to creating a Human Habitat where life revolves around close and continuing contact with plants, animals and children. It is these relationships that provide the young and old alike with a pathway to a life worth living. 3. Loving companionship is the antidote to loneliness. Seniors deserve easy access to human and animal companionship. 4. Access to meaningful activities is the antidote to boredom. 5. Creating opportunities to give as well as receive care is the antidote to helplessness. 6. Medical treatment should be the servant of genuine human caring, never its master.

"I just want to thank you so much for your assistance in finding
appropriate housing needs for my stepfather. You have been
a tremendous help and have set my mind at ease by providing those
facilities that fit our need. Your agency provides a great service
for families going through the same issues as myself.

"I agonized over placing my mom in an assisted living facility;
in fact, I fought the whole idea of it until I had no other choice.
My emotions were almost a hindrance to me to make the best
decision for my mom as I wanted more than anything to protect her
but the situation was out of my control. We moved my mom in about a
month ago and she went from being sad and depressed to open and
happy once again. She is making friends and participating in all
the activities and she even loves the food! We all love
you at A Place for Mom!"
