Nurses 24 hours! Huge plus!
#1 thing we love about this place is that they have nurses! Not CNA’s that have taken a few day course, actual nurses that have been taught to care for my dad. Food is Not all that great, but has gotten better. Staffing should be fixed. Need better cleaning crew. They don’t do the job they should. Could be cleaner.

Not good enough but room for improvement
Food is good. Pleasant staff. All inclusive Memory Care does not mean good care. My mom initially was treated well but over time (4 plus months) the staffing changes, the lack of supervision, the inability find staff on the floor (because I saw them leave through the side door and no one was with the MC residents) was distressing. She didn’t get her meals all the time and I was there to see that because I would be there if mom was feeling bad and no one came in at all (they also didn’t know I was there -since when I came in no one was on the floor.) Protecting the MC residents is important to WSS per their words but that falls short because it is a sad MC unit to visit. The corporation doesn’t allow cameras in the rooms of the residents (which is only beneficial to the corp) since this is plausible deniability. I was glad I had private caregivers and mom had 2 meals a day and care. The director is caring without control over staff. I wrote a letter but no response.

Pros: Location very walkable and residents could pay for Villages amenities card for golf, etc. Cons: The facility needs an update and the atmosphere wasn't very cheery. Wasn't able to sample the food nor were we offered any samples to take with us. The tour guide couldn't tell me the staff to patient ratio. I was only able to talk with one resident and her comment was neutral.

[Name removed] was welcoming and most informative. This was the first time either of the prospective resident's sons had even been in an assisted living residence. Your check list was very helpful to them. They are struggling with the fact their father will need residential care, likely within months or a year. Elan is a very attractive place to consider. One turn-off: The entry to its Memory Care wing is very visible to public area traffic. It's security measures are obvious, but it appears quite forbidding, like an entry to a jail wing.

My sister and I went to visit Elan of Spanish Springs and found it to be wonderful. Paige walked us through everything along with Marie, one of the RN’s-and found them to be very informative, caring and concerned about the needs of our mother. Staff were delightful too. A very homey atmosphere. We decided this was the place for our mom.

A god move !
I just. Walked through Elan Spanish Springs with a friend who had become a new resident there. I had looked at two others previously. I feel I am about ready for a place like that. I fall quite often and odds are eventually will fall and hurt myself.
So as I walked Looked . The small apartments (called alcoves) were tiny ,325 square feet . But upon examination, they had enough room for a person to live, comfortably. The one bedrooms were also very small. There are only4 2x2. And it.has a waiting-list. That is what i am
Looking for.thT price is high, I thought.for an alcove they were 2900 a month that includes everything, water, electric, computer wifi, three meals a day, apartment cleaned once a week, laundry done of sheets and new one put on, personal laundry can also be done for free.wil there wasn't a calendar of event available ,I had walked into a man singing and a group o F people sitting around. Singing and dancing, clapping their hand,s about30-40 of them, and enjoying the connections to the music being played
The longer I stayed the more relaxed the atmosphere became. They have a theater there were every ghy a different movie is played. They also have a craft roomies where crafts are done and taught. It also has a wood floor perfect for line dancing, lessons.
I enjoyed the people I met when I have dinner there. They all spoke positively about their choice to live there.

A brand new community!!
My loved one is doing very well at Elan Spanish Springs. The staff are fabulous. The food is excellent. The community is clean and well taken care of. They offer a lot of daily activities. I would recommend this community.
