The staff have been communicative and pleasant, but I found them quick to increase price when mom needed temporary assistance due to weakness during COVID infection that she got here. Being a nurse, I insisted on OT and PT to get her strength back and declined a suggested Foley catheter for her incontinence knowing that would put her at risk for infection and limit her mobility. She recovered and I pushed for reassessment to get her fees back down. I am not sure those without family in healthcare would do in this case. That said, I would still recommend the place.

Friendly and Caring Staff
For the most part it was good but I have to deduct for the glasses issue. The common areas were always very clean. There were times when my aunt's room clearly had not been vacuumed for a while. Everyone was great! Very caring, thoughtful, and kind to both my aunt and me. A good variety of activities; everyone was welcomed and included regardless of participation. Value for cost hard to rate. Again, aunt was only there 6 weeks and her needs were high so it was expensive. But to rate... I will go with 4.5.

My loved one is a resident at Brookdale Eagan and everything has been great about her experience at this facility. They have very friendly staff and nurses that care. The housekeeping is great! The friendliness and activities are great. The value for cost is also great. I'm not sure about the quality of the meals. I would highly recommend this facility to family and friends!

Brookdale of Eagan is a decent facility
Brookdale of Eagan is a dedicated dementia facility which provides a large floor plan for residents to allow them to move around quite a bit. They handled covid in an outstanding manner. They have had a lot of staff turnover, but a few key positions have remained in place.

I have taken multiple tours of Brookdale Eagan and have met many Staff and patients. All of my questions were answered professionally as well as compassionately. The Brookdale Community welcomed me and my Dad with open arms and walked me through everything I needed for my Dad to join the community. I am grateful for how dedicated they were in making this process, which has been a struggle for me, as informed and easy as they could. My Dad will be joining Brookdale Eagan.

A place that feels like home.
If your loved one needs memory care , this is the place that you want them to live. The whole facility is dedicated and designed for MEMORY CARE ONLY .
The residents are free to move about and explore different parts of the building . There are two internal courtyards and two fenced in courtyards , as well as various themed spaces accessible to residents to discover and putts about . It feels like home , as opposed to simply a room down a long hall.
The staff is wonderful , they work with each individuals personalities and are able to tailor the care. They really seem to enjoy their jobs as well as the residents themselves and often share stories about what my Mom has been up to.
When she arrived she was 87 pounds and just stayed in her room. Now , a year later, she is 108 lbs and is often taking part of the activities of the day and greets me with a smile ! .

Answer to prayer!
After 6 months of frustration and concern for my mom’s memory care, we decided it was time to make a change. I reached out to ‘A Place for Mom’ and was put in touch with [name removed]. She was so helpful and compassionate in the process of searching for a better solution. [Name removed] recommended Brookdale Eagan. Not only is it conveniently located for our family to visit, memory care is all they do- so they were 100% equipped and trained to take care of residents with my mom’s needs. After a tour, we were blown away by the beautiful and well-thought out single-floor facility, compassionate and attentive staff, variety of social and therapeutic activities and cutting-edge technology. We are so excited to have my mom in her new home very soon! Truly an answer to prayer and wonderful Christmas gift to our family!

My loved one does not like the food. The cleanliness and the communication, needs to improve. The bathroom could use more cleaning. The staff was really nice. We picked this community because, it was the only location that would take my loved one, according to the level of care that was needed. If your loved one, has early stages of dementia them it's a good facility. They have good activities, for those who are still mobile.

Look before you leap!!!!
I would tell others to not expect too much. Not all experiences were bad, but for the most part it was very disorganized and short staffed. I was there almost every day, so my mom had an advocate. So many people don't have that and I watched how they were treated. Before my mom passed the director left (no great loss) then the sales person left. There was never anybody to reach if there were problems.

Tour of Brookdale
I toured Brookdale Eagan; they were nice and really pleasant. They took the time to sit with us and answer questions. We chose another community because it was a closer fit for where our family lives, in comparison to where Brookdale is located.

Brookdale Eagen review
Unfortunately due to the health of our loved ones they were not able to move in, but we really appreciated their help and supportiveness they gave us through the admin process. It was a wonderful experience to work with them, they had great communication and tried their best to help us our every way possible. We were very impressed with their staff.

I Would Recommend But They Charge An Extra Week After Your Loved One Passes
My loved one had a very short stay here. If your loved one passes in the community, they charge for an additional week after your loved one passes. This is disturbing to the family as we had all of my loved one's belongings out the same day our loved one passed. The community still charged us for the additional week. They gave me some numbers to call as the community wouldn't agree to refund the money for us for that additional week that we had to pay. I feel this was a bad business decision.
The staff were wonderful and caring during the time my loved one was there. My loved one was on hospice care, and they kept me updated on my loved one. They were very kind and caring. They even were concerned about the entire family and our loved one during this difficult time.

Overall a good community
Brookdale Eagan is a friendly, light, bright and overall nice place. We believe the food is pretty good, the rooms they provide for the residents are everything you would need, and we would recommend the community to others.
