Since mom has been there I've continued to be impressed with how the staff has helped Mom transition. It has been a savior for him and our family. When he was transferred from Assisted living, he was impossible to manage, losing weight, and had bruises and lacerations all over his legs and arms. Now his depression and anxiety are well managed, he has gained 12 pounds, and his arms and legs look great. The staff has been wonderful and the ancillary care with [name removed] the PA, the visiting podiatrist, and the visiting psych NP has been a life saver. [name removed] the nurse has kept a close eye on him and has intervened early several times when Dad developed medical complications, saving him from getting worse and ending up in the hospital. My husband and I have never seen my mother so happy. My out of town sister also notices how content Mom is. The staff is wonderful down to the details. For example, during one of my visits, staff came to my mom with eye drops (to prevent dry eye). I was so impressed because they care about the little things that make a big health difference. They also keep me well informed of any medical issues. For example, they even tell me when they are trying a new team for a stubborn skin rash. They also have great programs for a small facility and they are always open to new ideas os well as initiating new ones, line a Passover Seder for Jewish residents. [name removed], [name removed] and [name removed] and staff at Brookdale W. Eisenhower eased the transition for my mom. They have shown her grace, compassion and met her where she is cognitively. The staff are skilled at helping people with all types of dementia, and for my mom it’s dementia with Lewy bodies. The staff work well with the residents, but also each other. We feel very fortunate and at ease with my mom at Brookdale W.
