Great Experience, small community feeling
Our parents have been living at Carrington for over three years, including during this last Covid-19 year, and they have had a great experience there. Prior to living at Carrington, they lived for a year in one of Green Bay's giant assisted- living/rehab/ nursing home campuses, and the difference is remarkable. Carrington has a maximum of 22 residents, so the staff gets to know the residents as individuals and knows each persons needs, likes and dislikes. The residents and staff develop a relationship with each other that is similar to a family.
Carrington is more like a home than an institution. Another positive for this small place vs the large home of hundreds, is that germs don't spread like wildfire. In the large institution, my parents were frequently quarantined in their rooms because of flu or some other stomach virus going around. At Carrington, this has never happened. My parents and all of the residents have been free of flu and covid throughout their stay at Carrington. The place is very clean, the food is great, and can be customized if the resident doesn't like what is being served. When my parents push their buzzer, people come to their assistance in a timely manner. When we feel something goes wrong, the administration and caregivers have answered our concerns in a timely manner. I have learned that the fancy furniture and fireplaces and country club atmosphere you see at the large campuses are mostly for show and to persuade you to sign on the line. But what really matters is the caring staff who are with your loved one 24/7. You can't see that on your one hour tour of the place, but should be the main reason why you should be choosing a home for loved ones. The behind the scenes caregivers at Carrington are top notch and provide not just care but love and attention too. If I were to do it all over again, I would choose Carrington, and so would my mom and dad. They love it there.

Just moving in!
I have looked at over 15 CBRFs and assisted living communities, after leaving I cried at 13 of the places!! But the moment I walked into Carrington I was welcomed by staff! And a resident and a Nurse were polka dancing in the living area!! Trust me, never seen that at any other homes! I could just feel the love!! I also liked that it was a 20 room facility! I knew my mom would be safe, comfortable and well taken care of!! People that I told we were thinking of my Mother going there, I have never been told a bad word! Even ex employees said it is a great place! [name removed] the administrator has been nothing but kind and loving thru this difficult time, and her staff seems to be amazing! I never thought I would say I would be Excited to have to put my mom in assisted living! But I am excited for this adventure! Thank you [name removed] , [name removed] , [name removed] and [name removed] for making this transition a positive experience!

AWFUL!!!
This place was dirty. The staff was poorly trained and very disinterested in their patients. I honestly thought that I was going to die there! I couldn't wait to get out. They served junk food: no salads, no greens, only boiled/canned vegetables. My impression was that they were trying to spend as little as possible on the patients. I feel sorry for all of those that couldn't leave. There were 3 ladies that told me they begged for their children to take them out of this hole!

LESS THAN ZERO!
I am RN and had friend that was put in this facility. She there for less 2 weeks because there was such an outcry from her friends and family. The place was dirty. There were holes through the carpet right through to the subfloor. The fronts of kitchen drawers and cabinets were broken. There was no therapy dept., no activity dept. (the activity director came in to introduce herself and say that it was her last day and as far as she knew there was no replacement). The food was: pizza, hot dogs, spahetti-o type casserole, mac 'n cheese, basically garbage diet. The staff was insensitive and my impression they spent the bulk of their time trying to avoid the patients. The place deserves a MINUS -10! The only places that I've seen that are worse were in the southern part of the US.

At the time we were they were very accommodating, and caring!
This review is based off of our experience we had a year ago. The director that was there at the time was awesome, we were very pleased with them. We do know they had all kinds of activities, and the rooms were like being at home. Our loved one had her bed and own bathroom, she also had a TV and her own chair. She also had bird feeders outside the windows, and they let us decorate with pictures. Carrington community was so good to our loved one, it felt like a home we could come and go as we pleased.

If she likes the coffee all is well
This is a fabulous community and my mom loves the staff and the friendliness of the residents as well. Her room is great she has moved some of her furniture, plants, and pictures in so it has started to feel more like home to her. She is starting to take part in the activities and the staff has done a great job at encouraging her as well. It is such a comfort to me knowing that my mother is happy here and I would definitely recommend taking a tour of this great community.

Above my Expectations
As soon as we walked into Carrington we felt a different vibe. It was so much like a home. The staff was not only friendly but seemed like they cared about the people who lived there. They went out of their way to answer all of our questions and never once did we feel any pressure placed on us at all. The room that my father-in-law is in is very roomy compared to other places we had looked at. Since we have been here for awhile, I can tell you that we are very happy that we picked this place. It has been above our expectations and we are very grateful to the entire staff!

Knowledgeable Tour Guide!!
The guide that took me on tour was very nice and answered all of my questions. The Carrington Assisted Living is a pet friendly community. They have stretching, cooking, and gardening activities. The staff met along the tour were friendly and communicated well. My tour was good i received great information about the community and their services.

We recommend Carrington
Staff have helped my aunt participate in things that she hasn't done for years and badly needed to related to hygiene and diet and socialization. It is miraculous. They are responsive and caring and communicate with us promptly. There is a great atmosphere when one walks in, fun and interactive. We recommend this community.

Needs More Security
My loved one resides at Carrington Manor & overall - I am pleased with the care. Staff is friendly, food is decent, rooms are clean. One concern I have is security though. I suggest they get a push button alarm system that needs a key coded to enter or leave. Currently anyone coming & going is not monitored real well.

Our staff responds to all visitors and provides assistance if entry/exit is needed and the code isn't known. Happy with the Care
My Mom resides at Carrington & she increasingly has required a higher level of care due to her dementia. She is there for just over 2 years now. The staff is very friendly & attentive to her. The Administrator is awesome & very helpful. She cares deeply for every patient there. The staff does the absolute very best that they can in meeting everyone's needs, but at times, I feel they could use an additional person especially in the evening hours. There are 20 residents to care for with a limited amount of staff. It usually is not a problem though. Hope this review is helpful.

We’re extremely pleased.
We’re extremely pleased. My loved one seems happy with it. Just talking to my loved one the staff is extremely friendly and nice. There are always people greeting you. It’s just a nice smaller community and seems very personalized. I’ve eaten there twice and it’s good.

The atmosphere and environment of this facility is very good. The facility looks neat, orderly, somewhat cheerful, and smells fine. This is not a locked facility and that concerns me a little. I was told that the entrances are monitored and any time the doors are opened, a staff would receive a pager vibration that would alert them to it. When we first walked in, I didn't see anyone come to the front door to investigate. I wonder if Mom needs a more secure facility than this one.

Our entrances are monitored by an alarm that would sound if someone entered/exited without entering the code.
