The housekeeping lady is not that great. Food- they run out of fruit and bread sometimes. The activities are good, but they could have more of a variety. As for Care...only the food staff is a little understaffed.

Wonderful Apartments
Beautiful and spacious apartments. Rent includes 3 meals each day, cable, transportation, emergency medical pendant, weekly housekeeping and linen service.
Prices are much less expensive than other communities in the area. They have a home health care company on site to help you for an additional fee, as well as physical therapy company.
Staff was friendly and residents were very welcoming to me and my family during our visit.

Not What I Expected
I've only been here for about 2 months. A one bedroom apartment is comfortable, but I have to move to a studio. When I asked for some work on the apartment, it was completed in a timely manner. Some people are friendly and some keep to themselves. I expected more healthy, active people. Instead, there are so many on walkers and wheelchairs. I get nervous when Emergency vehicles arrive so often. The ear piercing fire alarm (in the apartment) is unbearable to me. I leave the building as soon as possible. This doesn't happen often. I was misled about Internet. It does come with your rent, but it isn't private, so you are advised to buy your own. The best thing about this place is a friendly, hard working staff. The worst is residents who gossip and claim a dining room spot as their own. That feels like middle school all over again.

Blair House has been home for us for the past [time frame removed], and we are very happy with our choice for retirement living. Our staff is upbeat and responsive to our needs. The meals are top notch, and efforts are made to schedule a variety of activities to meet interests of the varied residents. I recommend Blair House for Independent Retirement Living.

Would recommend Blair House. It's a great place.
Blair House is definitely a great place for seniors who are still able to take care of themselves but need a little help with meals. It's a great community, and my dad has been able to make some new friends. He still feels independent and not like he's in a nursing home. He seems genuinely happy there.

All and all I think it is a really nice place. Everybody is really friendly and supportive and try to help my loved one as much as they could. I think my loved one could really enjoy it if she got more involved. She has a cute little apartment with a balcony. It has everything she needs. Meals are good and can be delivered to her room for a fee and she enjoys that option. Housekeeping comes once a week.

The Blair House is a safe place to be, it is a place where you can put your loved one and do not have to worry. The residents are friendly, the day to day staff, house keeping and kitchen staff are wonderful. The meals are prepared by a chef and even though some of the meals are "off the wall" our loved one has yet to complain She does not always participate in the activities but they have a ton of different opportunities to get involved. We highly recommend this community to others, the location is good and it has great access.

Pleasant Place to Live
I enjoy Blair House and have made a lot of friends here. Blair House is a great place to live. The staff are excellent to work with if I have questions or concerns.
The meals are as good as you can expect. Some of the activities available are cards, bridge, poker, bingo, and more for the residents to choose from.

Our Tour Experience
We had a great tour at Blair House. There were just some things about the facility that weren't the right fit for our loved one. They don’t have full apartments there. Instead, the living spaces are almost like a hotel room that offers a little kitchenette, and I just didn’t think our loved one would be comfortable with that set-up. Also, the rooms we saw were very small, and they just weren’t as updated. That being said, there was quite a price point difference between Blair House and the community we chose. Blair House's monthly fee was quite a bit less, and they had lower entrance fees as well. The sales director that we talked to really seemed to want to get to know our loved one and very much wanted to hear about her. She made the touring process very smooth and easy.

A Great Place to Start the Rest of Your Life
I would say to try it. We have already picked out our apartment when we are ready. It is definitely recommended.
They have food choices, such as a hot meal, a salad option, and a cold meal. Due to the pandemic restrictions they had meals delivered to the resident's rooms. The restrictions are starting to lift and the dining room is open now.
There is lots of things to do for the residents to participate in.

The staff is very caring and friendly.
The meals themselves would be a three in a half, and with the lock down the meals are being delivered to our rooms. The building itself is old it could use face lift, it is just worn out. The staff is thinly staffed and there are. We are very impressed with the friendliness and they try their best.

Very happy!
Location is great--centrally located with hospitals and shopping. Staff is fantastic --knows residents and families by name. They all go above and beyond for the seniors who live there. Activities are great--geared toward the seniors and what they want. I can't say enough good things about Blair House.
