Great choice for Assisted Living
The staff at Bell Oaks Place is fantastic! They are always very helpful and supportive. The housekeeping is good, although my mom has commented that dusting isn't done enough. The move in process was great, we had no problems and the staff was very welcoming and helpful to get my mom settled in. As far as the food, my mom comments that some selections are not to her liking and that there isn't something offered daily that she can eat easily. I think that the menu should be available to the family to assist in selections. Also, perhaps more 'home-cooked' type of meals could be offered. Overall, I would highly recommend Bell Oaks Place to others. It's a small facility, the activities are great and keep residents engaged and active and the staff is very helpful and kind.

Bell Oaks Place is a smaller senior living community that fosters a sense of family among residents. We develop individual care plans to meet the needs of each resident, and a full-time registered nurse is available 24 hours a day to provide clinical oversight and coordination of care. Our residents engage in a variety of activities, such as exercise classes, Qigong, card club, bingo, kazoo band, worship services, pet therapy, and live entertainment. They also enjoy invigorating outdoor activities, including gardening, gazebo club, and outings for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Not a Skilled Nursing Facility
This really isn't skilled care no matter what the facility boasts. They do not have enough aids to help with transfers and bathing.
They need to move the elevator from in front of the stairs. Dangerous! My loved one fell into the elevator from her wheelchair wheels getting caught in the gap since no one was helping her to the dining room. If she has fallen out of the elevator on the 2nd floor, she could have fallen down the stairs.

Very good place!
Bell Oaks is a very nice facility; my mom has been happier there than any of the other places she has lived. The staff is always very sweet and helpful and they take really good care of my mom. The only thing she really complains about is the food, but I am hoping the kinks will be worked out with that soon.

Would recommend - we like that it's a smaller facility.
The staff is very welcoming to our family member as well as our entire family. The care is acceptable. We like that it's a smaller facility, which was very important to us. Our family member would just prefer that the food be more flavorful.

Not honest
My Mom was supposed to move in two weeks ago and was even shown the apartment she would get.
All she needed was a letter from her Doctor to get approved
The head nurse had someone call and tell us the Dr said he didn't think .my mom should live there due a medical issue. This sent my mom into a downward spiral. No place to live and she is 81 years old. We found out the head nurse and probably others lied about the letter and her Dr DID approve her to live there. She should be fired for lying about a Dr. Letter they received and hurting my mom so much. So, if you love your parent, do not let them live in a place where someone like this takes care of them. I'm so disappointed I'm their actions. Seems like a nice place if they get her out of their. My Mom found a much nicer place to live so she will be treated like the amazing person she is.

Extremely Caring Staff
Overall the staff was very helpful and friendly. My mother received many different services through Bell Oaks, and I felt like they attended to her very well. Sometimes the facility could have used a little more attention. But I'm aware that there are many staffing problems in the industry across the board.

Tour experience
Bell Oaks Place is extremely nice and we loved the staff, [name removed] still keeps in contact with us. They have a nurse on staff to oversee everything and train the every day staff which I really liked. The only downfall was the residents still have to wear masks and I knew my mom would not have liked that.

Would Recommend
My loved one enjoys bingo amongst other activities, like Sunday service. I would recommend it to anyone that needs assisted living to stay. They keep it very clean. I am happy with it. My brother hasn't complained about it. We picked this place as it was the closest one to us.

I was very pleased with our tour of Bell Oaks Place. It is a very nice facility and we really liked the people we met. We decided to keep mom home with us, but if we get serious about looking again we will definitely be checking them out.

Overall a Positive Experience
It's all been fairly positive. We do have some concerns and hopefully those are being addressed - just little things with the cleaning staff, and they have a different chef. I think those things are being addressed. Overall the staff I've met are really nice. If there's an issue, they try to address it. We haven't had any problems with my loved one being ill. I think they're doing the best that they can, although I think they're understaffed. I think that's common to senior care in general to keep costs down. My understanding is there are two people in the building overnight, which isn't a lot. Activities are starting back up again as Covid restrictions let up. They have an exercise group that goes on walks and they all talk afterward, Face Time, trivia questions on different time periods, crafts, devotional time. So there's lots of opportunities to get together.

Great value! Great rates! Beautiful community.
I suggested Bell Oaks Place for my 89 year old close friend. She moved in after seeing the accommodations and learning about the rates which were lower than most but came with so much value. [Name removed] and her family love it there and want to recommend it to everyone!

I don't write very many reviews but I have many things I feel strongly about regarding my mother's care at Bell Oaks Place.
Most of the aids are lazy and take their time answering my mother's call light. When they do answer her light she tells me they are rude and hateful. They tell her she rings too often (we do pay for call light service that doesn't stipulate how often is too often). Some days there is not a nurse at the facility which I feel is ludacris given the amount of money paid. There is a "QMA" that seemingly runs the whole building which is concerning to me personally. Not adequately staffed. My mother says meals are regularly served 30-45 minutes late and the food is often cold and when she asks for it to be heated she is treated badly. All around just poor service and not good treatment. We are currently touring other facilities.

Exceptional in Every Way
Our independent, active mother's health suddenly declined, and we were faced with finding her an assisted-living facility ASAP without any forethought or preparation. We only knew that it had to be welcoming, bright, and pleasant with great-tasting food and exceptional care. (Everything her rehab facility lacked.)
While researching area facilities, my sister-in-law made several calls to inquire about services and availability. During that process, an administrator at an independent senior living facility without assisted living recommended that we look at Bell Oaks Place. In fact, she said, "If I were looking for a place for my loved one, I would look at Bell Oaks Place. It's small, beautifully maintained and the caring, professional staff has very little turnover."
That did it! We immediately called and spoke with [Removed], the vivacious, passionate and compassionate facility manager. A couple hours later, I was touring the lovely facility.
The setting is idyllic, tucked in a little green space just a couple blocks off Hwy 66, and the building itself resembles a resort more than an assisted-living facility. Upon entering the lobby, the first impression is cheerful and welcoming. Natural light floods the room which is beautifully appointed with upholstered furniture, fresh flowers and tasteful accessories. Upbeat music also welcomes one’s arrival. But, most impressive was Laurie waiting by the door with a huge smile and an outstretched hand to welcome me. Honestly, after spending 5 weeks visiting Mom in her dark, dank rehab facility, I was thrilled with what I saw and felt.
The rest of the tour only further solidified my first impression. The dining room is spacious yet intimate and again beautifully appointed. The hallways are personalized by each resident's "front porch" which is decorated by its owner and immediately offers a sense of the person living within the apartment. The variety of adornments and knickknacks represents the wide range of life experiences and interests of all those fortunate enough to have found a home at Bell Oaks Place and makes the hallways uniquely inviting and interesting. The apartments are spacious with new paint and carpeting upon move-in, a small refrigerator and a microwave, but best of all, each resident brings his/her own furniture and accessories to create a truly personal living space with homey familiarity.
At the end of my tour, I arranged to bring Mom for a visit. Needless to say, she was equally impressed, but before making a final decision, she wanted to taste the food, so a couple days later, Mom and I had a delicious lunch in the private dining room, and that was that!
Mom moved in 4 days later and has been here just over 2 months. My mother, an outstanding cook, hostess and homemaker who never accepted less than the very best from herself and others is completely happy in her new home! She has not one complaint, and after being widowed 12 years ago, she is enjoying the camaraderie of meal times and activities. She has even started gaining back all the weight she lost while in rehab because she is eating so well. Now that she’s gaining strength and endurance and feeling better overall, she's looking forward to her first day trip on the Bell Oaks bus.
[Removed], head of nursing, has an unmatched passion for his residents and their well-being. Living 1000 miles away, I worried about Mom's day-to-day care, but I sincerely doubt she could receive better or more personal care anywhere else. The staff is quite simply outstanding. Will, head of maintenance, does everything with a smile and is quick to respond or help with even the simplest request. Jessica, community relations, has an effervescent personality that just draws one in, and she thoughtfully surprised Mom with a welcome gift tailored to her love of flowers. Mom was delighted to find a beautiful orchid plant and note awaiting her when she arrived in her new home. All the while, [Removed] continues to be a bright light at the helm of this exceptional facility. I wish I could name each and every person here who has touched our lives and made Mom's transition so much easier. We treasure each and every one of them!

Bell Oaks Place ROCKS!!!
