This has been an interesting week in senior living news. Findings showing that drinking alcohol, even in moderation, may pose as a dementia risk combined with Harvard studies showing that a rare gene mutation may aid in the nation’s mission to help treat and, even, prevent Alzheimer’s make this week a big week in dementia research.

In caregiving news, Northern California A Place for Mom Senior Living Advisor, Dale Masters, contributes both personal and professional expertise to the idea that many seniors say ‘no thanks’ to living with their adult kids.

And to circle back to the Olympics trials and healthy living, a rather fit 86-year-old senior, Johanna Quaas, inspires many with her spinning, jumping and twirling—even on the parallel bars! She may not be in the Olympics, but she literally “wowed” the audience at the 2012 Cottbus World Cup in Germany.
