Senior Living Week in Review: November 30th 2012

This week brings all sorts of interesting news: From a new Alzheimer’s drug proving effective in repairing brain damage, to new research that examines ageism and its effects on older adults—November has brought many interesting senior living findings.
In honor of Diabetes Awareness Month, A Place for Mom would like to remind caregivers and their families to be aware of the importance of senior nutrition. Eating well is important at any age, but even more necessary for seniors because nutritional needs change as we age. Adequate nutrition is necessary for health, vitality and quality of life. And—for a variety of reasons—many seniors are not eating as well as they should, which can lead to poor nutrition or malnutrition, easily being mistaken as a disease or illness.
Learn how to spot and prevent senior malnutrition, get tips on supporting healthy senior living and nutrition, and learn about Type 2 Diabetes in seniors.
