UTAH ASSISTED LIVING RECORDS & REPORTS

Overall Rating

Basic

Rank

48 (tie)

When choosing assisted living care, consumers are reliant on their state’s regulatory agencies to provide information about communities and their backgrounds. But public access to assisted living records varies greatly state by state. Here is a snapshot of the level of transparency in the state of Utah:

Key Findings

  • In Utah mandatory assisted living inspections occur once every three years.
  • No information about inspections, complaints, or survey results is available to consumers online.

How to Access Records

  • Visit the State of Utah page: Health Facility Information for general information.
  • Visit www.eldercare.gov to locate the appropriate long-term-care ombudsman. He or she can often provide specific information about communities and their backgrounds.
  • If you need to make a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to get records, consider browsing these state-by-state resources from the National Freedom of Information Coalition, which includes sample state-specific FOIA letters.
